Sports and Societies

For the first time, the JCR and MCR are entering a partnership, allowing MCR members to participate in sports and societies on equal terms with JCR members. This means that MCR members can now hold team positions, such as Captain, as well as removal of any additional non-JCR fees. Essentially, this merger creates a unified Castle-wide approach to sports and societies, where all college members are welcome to join any society or sports club they choose.

University Sports and Societies

Also on offer are university-level societies and sports clubs. There tends to be a greater variety of university societies than college ones due to larger numbers, so whatever your interests there’s likely to be something for you. University sports clubs are generally for those of a decent level of ability (although some do accept complete beginners too). It’s definitely worth visiting the DSU clubs & societies fair during Freshers'/Induction Week.
